WorldChangers Youth Ministry
Youth in the South Bronx (and any inner city community) walk the streets with no purpose. They are filled with talent and creativity, hungry for acceptance and longing for healthy, loving relationships and support to pursue their dreams. The environment around them does not provide these things, and they wander lost, confused, and angry, without purpose or a sense of destiny. They have been hurt, abandoned, and rejected by many around them.
Love, mentoring, discipleship, leadership training and counseling in a family environment are hallmarks of The Harvest Center's work with youth and young adults. In a community where tragedy abounds and dysfunction is the norm, the simple message to the youth is this: "No matter what your past was, your family upbringing, or anything else, you are loved by God. You have a destiny planned by God. It's awesome, and you can achieve it!"
Friday Nite Live
Friday Nite Live is the youth outreach at The Harvest Center. Friday Nite Live incorporates relationship-building with fun and relevant discussions and Bible studies. It is designed to "speak the language" of the youth on the streets of the inner city, with honest answers about the real life situations they face every day. Time for showcasing talent (music, dance, creative writing) is incorporated into each night, during which the Exodus drama ministry plays a vital role of inspiration.
The focus of Friday Nite Live is on relationship, the most important one being with Christ Himself. Friday Nite Live has brought spiritual and numerical growth and has given an opportunity for student leaders to be actively engaged in life-changing ministry as they disciple and mentor youth under the direction of leadership at The Harvest Center.
While Friday Nite Live is an exciting and relevant time of ministry, the heart of this ministry is the follow-up, relationship building and discipleship that takes place one-on-one outside The Harvest Center through student leaders empowered through S.A.L.T., the student leadership training ministry of Urban Harvest Ministries.
A Friday Nite Live manual and various Bible studies (including an effective five-week study on sex called "Everyone Needs a Month of Sex") are available through Urban Harvest Ministries.

Exodus Drama Ministry
Creative arts are a powerful and effective communicator of the gospel, one that reaches churched and non-churched individuals alike in every culture and context. Urban Harvest Ministries has an expanding music and drama ministry, involving children, youth, and adults. Our principal creative arts ministry is Exodus.
The Exodus Drama Ministry is a blend of hard-core discipleship and creative arts ministry comprised of the core group of youth and young adults from UHM in the South Bronx. These "sold-out" young Christians communicate their faith and Christ's power through both humorous and poignant ways.
Using drama, mime, rhythmic routines, dance, and testimonies, Exodus has reached and encouraged many souls across the United States and in Mexico, the Bahamas and Cuba. They minister in churches, in public schools, in youth conferences, and in many outdoor secular settings to proclaim Christ. They will continue to be a key part of the outreaches in the South Bronx, Detroit, and other cities to which UHM is sent. They believe in God's power to transform cities and they want to be involved in changing their world.
The students discovered in their Bibles that the name "Exodus" means "journey out of bondage." That's the journey that they have chosen, and that's the journey they want to present to others.
Exodus frequently visits churches and conferences to spread the Good News of their faith and of what God is doing through Urban Harvest Ministries in our nation's cities. If you would like for Exodus to come to your event or church, contact the UHM office at 718/402-6777 or email us. .
Reflections about Exodus
"The Exodus drama ministry has grown into a Spirit-led team able to minister in any situation. People from one of the most devastated areas in America have found peace and purpose in their lives."
-- Bill Simmons, Director, Master's Commission, Washington, DC
"Not only has UHM reached these young people with the Truth, but they are also discipling and mentoring them into the work of the ministry including going to the nations. God has given them a powerful and life-changing work."
-- Connie Bissen, Director of Missions, Trinity Church, Omaha, Nebraska
"Our church hosted the youth drama team 'Exodus'. The entire church was touched as the team presented the message of Jesus Christ in drama. Lives have been changed forever and our church has truly been blessed ... Big city USA and small town America do have something in common. They are laborers together in the harvest."
-- Jerry Bell, Pastor, Macon, GA
